I just recently came across Kresley Cole's Immortals After Dark series. I'm addicted. Wicked Deeds on a Winter's Night is the fourth book in the series and follows Bowen MacRieve's storyline. His mate, Mariketa the Awaited is introduced. As much as I enjoyed Bowen, this is one story where I think I actually preferred Mariketa's story more. Her personality and back story struck a chord with me. And I seriously wanted to shake Bowen a couple of times. As a couple, they balance one another out.
Since the beginning of the series, I've listened to the audiobooks. Robert Petkoff, the narrator, has serious talent. I can't stress it enough. I get lost in his voice. He does all the accents SO WELL. His voice is dark and full of lust at every right moment. Nine times out of ten, I cringe when male narrators do women voices, but not with this guy. A poor narrator can destroy a book, but the right narrator has the potential to add another layer to the story. Petkoff is the latter.
Can't wait to continue the series!
